Welcome to Aquaforte! A favourite hideout and rendezvous point for Peter Easton, one of the most notorious Pirates of the early 17th century and resting place of the pirate ship Bludgeon.

It is my pleasure to bring greetings on behalf of the Town Council and our residents.

Aquaforte is a quaint and picturesque Community along the Southern Shore known as the Irish Loop. It is one of the safest and landmarked harbours in North America and has been used as a seasonal fishing station since the 1670’s, although no residents settled here until the 1800’s. The harbour is 4.82 kilometers in length and attracts kayakers and canoers from all over Newfoundland, Labrador and beyond. We have the ocean on one side and forest on the other… a great place to spend the day, hiking the East Coast Trail, berry picking, bird watching or doing your favourite water activity.
